Low-Impact Strength Diamond Powder

LS diamond powder features blocky regular through irregular shaped 3-D crystals with sharp edges and corners.  Crystals possess low-impact strength due to their high level of internal defects.  Designed for use in loose form, compounds and slurries, or in resin or vitreous bonded tools for grinding, polishing, and lapping of carbide, ceramics, glass, plastics, natural stones, and other hard and abrasive materials.

SYN is designed to be used in loose abrasive applications, including slurries, for hard disk texturing and superfinishing/lapping of read-write heads.

SYN is monocrystalline diamond with a blocky 3-D body, regular through irregular shaped crystals with sharp edges and corners.  SYN is of the highest purity, exhibiting a very low level of surface and intrinsic or trapped impurities.

The Particle Size Distribution (PSD) of SYN is characterized by single peak (mean = mode), tight band width, and gross oversize control, ensuring consistent depth of cut, increased material removal rates, and high surface finish.   Because of low-level internal defects such as pre-existing fractures, stresses, and impurities, SYN crystals are high impact strength.

SYN is readily wetable, exhibiting excellent solid-liquid system stability due to high crystal surface purity.
